battle hardened drums and pitiless rain peals over tales of woe
Favorite track: One Verse All, I Shall Show No Fear and Fulfill My Oath..
Composed as a 4 part series of demos that i have now compiled into an album. Enjoy the short story below that breaks it down track by track.
1. A Pilgrim Knight's Quest to the End of the World
-The legend of a solitary knight's quest that takes him across nations, through hills, valleys, streams, and mountain tops, armed with nothing but a shield, torch, and his sword he makes his way through the lands, his horse his sole companion.
Travel from towns to battlefields, haunted forests to peaceful ever green glades untouched by war and plague, this shall truly take you to world's end.
2. Psalm of the Lonely Gatekeeper
-The sad song the gatekeeper sings every day, if you stand close enough to his valley gate you can hear him sing it aloud. This is how he shows the gods gratitude for keeping him safe while he fulfills his oath of honor and glory.
3. A Warrior's Solemn Prayer to the Battle Gods of Yore
-While scouting from atop of his gate tower one evening the gatekeeper spots an army marching towards his gate, he cannot distinguish who's flag it is marching towards his gate but in the end it matters not his oath is to stand and protect this gate at all costs, for he is the strongest and most fierce warrior of his people, and the last of his line of kin. He has no time to call for aid, only time to say one last solemn prayer to the battle gods of yore to watch over his blade.
4. One Verse All, I Shall Show No Fear and Fulfill My Oath
-The time has come, the army is at his gate, they must pass through the valley leading up to it and that will only allow for 4 of the soldiers at a time, this puts them at a disadvantage against the gatekeeper. Drums of war pounding away, the battle rages through the night amidst the storm and the rain he fights. His blade finding throat after throat, gut after gut he cuts them down, his shield takes blow after blow, hit after hit, how much longer can he last? alas he falls and the small remainder of the army crawls over him and slams into the gate. His eyesight fades, the rain feels good against his hot face. He can rest easy as he has fulfilled his duty. Dropping hundreds of the army before they could finally bring him down means the military of his home village will be able to defeat what is left, he closes his eyes and lets Odin call him home to Valhalla. A true warrior. A true legend. The Lonely Gatekeeper dies with a smile upon his face...
5. Battle of the Bridge Knight
-The battle of the bridge knight is a short but epic tale set on an important bridge in the countryside, one my not think much of it for the uses of the common man. But it is critical to travel for armies seeking to cross the land. The lord that controls the bridge controls the traffic. Brother the Gatekeeper the Bridge Knight has been appointed the task of guarding this tactical advantage, when an attacking army approaches he stands his ground and fights alone through the day and well into the night. As he saw them approaching he was able to light a beacon and reinforcements were on their way, but alas, by the time they got there what they witnessed was a man, so full of arrows he looked like a porcupine, so full of deep cuts and large gashes he looked more blood than flesh, standing on a pile of corpses swinging wildly at the reminder of the army that was still trying to push past. As soon as the reinforcements caught the knight's eye he knew he had done enough and collapsed dead before he hit the ground. From there the lord's army was able to clean up the remaining attackers and give the Bridge Knight a proper burial and a song.
6. The Glory and Beauty of Rome
-A song dedicated to the epic and moving glory that is Rome, Her greatness and beauty can not be compared.
7. Even in Death I Shall Still Know Honor
- A proud Centurion is given the impossible task of protecting a mountain pass from the Hun Nation with only 100 soldiers that have sat in the cold with no food for weeks and weeks, he accepts the task all the same as the death in the name of the emperor is the highest honor a centurion could hope to achieve.

I met Fogweaver through Vedurnan and, later, Magelight. This more energetic take on their music is wonderful and exciting, a compelling twist bearing their unique signature. emanuele127

If nostalgia for an age where creatures of myth walked together with the children of men had a soundtrack, this album would be it. Also, a touching reminder that we can forego wealth and power for wilderness and freedom, if we so choose. emanuele127

One of my favorite dungeon synth albums, and I had only heard it a few days ago for the first time.
Perfect for drifting off to sleep, but also for driving under the canopy of trees. It is very soft, and pleasant, yet vast at times. The ambient forest sounds are extremely soothing. A wonderful work of art that feels as refreshing as diving into the deeps of a natural, cold spring in the eves of summer. Bjorn
